INX Media Case : After 107 days Supreme Court grants bail to P. Chidambaram

New Delhi: npnews24 Online – Former Finance Minister P.Chidambaram gets bail from Supreme Court after 107 days in the case of money laundering lodged by Enforcement Directorate. The Supreme Court accepted the application for bail. After 107 days the court has granted the permission of bail to P. Chidambaram, this case is regarding the ED.
The ED had lodged the case. The Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 4 has granted the bail with the bond of 2 lakh rupees. The Supreme Court has told P. Chidambaram to not give any interviews or statements anywhere. The court has told that he cannot travel anywhere without the court’s permission. P.Chidambaram would need to take the Supreme Court’s permission to travel. The Court has also said that he should not have any contact with the witnesses related to this case. He should not try to meet them nor contact any of them.
Chidambaram was first arrested on August 21 by the CBI in an INX media corruption case and the apex court granted him bail on October 22. The ED then arrested him on October 16 in a money laundering case.
