Interstate gang of robbers arrested from Lonavla; police crack two dacoity cases in Mangalvedha

Solapur : NpNews24 Online – Solapur Crime | The police have successfully cracked the two robbery cases in Mangalvedha taluka. An interstate gang or robbers has been arrested and 10 tola of gold worth Rs 5 lakh has been seized from them. Sub Divisional Police Officer Rajashree Patil announced in a press conference that the gang members had been arrested from Lonavla in Pune district.

Two dacoities had happened in the jurisdiction of Mangalvedha police station. In the first incident, the robbers entered the house of Suvarna Hazare located in Damajinagar by breaking the door of her bungalow and beat up her husband by using an iron rod and took away 1.5 tola gold.

In the second incident, the robbers had entered the bungalow of Mandakini Savji located at Chaitanyanagar Nagnewadi and taken away 11 tola 3 gm gold by threatening to kill a newly wedded couple.

Due to these two dacoities in Mangalvedha town, an atmosphere of fear and panic had been created. It was a challenge for the police to crack these cases. The police have arrested the accused after a thorough investigation by using technical evidence. The accused were arrested on January 31, 2022 from Lonavla and 10 tola gold worth Rs 5 lakh was seized from them. The police have come to know that the accused have committed similar crimes in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh and they are searching for two more accused. It is likely that the accused may admit to committing more crimes.
