Indian Army honours young entrepreneur Punit Balan in a special felicitation

Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen BS Raju felicitates Balan

Pune : NpNews24 Online – The Indian Army has bestowed a special honour upon young entrepreneur Punit Balan for his contribution to children’s education and other development work, along with the Army, in the Kashmir Valley. Balan was recently presented a Certificate of Appreciation by Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen BS Raju.

Punit Balan has been rendering social service through Punit Balan Group and Indrani Balan Foundation across the country. He has particularly taken the lead under the ‘Nation First’ initiative for the education of Kashmiri children. He has been running 10 schools, established by the Indian Army, through the Indrani Balan Foundation. These schools are located in high-militancy areas such as Baramulla, Kupwada, Anantnag, Pehelgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Uri, Trehgam and Gurez. Moreover, the Dagar School for Special Children at Baramulla is being helped technically, educationally and financially by the foundation. Punit Balan Group has been providing financial help to sportspersons from Kashmir to participate in the international events. Among such sportspersons are Afreen Haider (Taekwondo), cyclist Muhammad Saleem and kho-kho player Ummer Syed.

The foundation has installed a high-mast 150-ft Tricolour in Shopian, where the highest activity by militants is witnessed.

Punit Balan was congratulated by Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen BS Raju in Delhi by presenting the Certificate of Appreciation for his formidable work for the Kashmir Valley’s prosperity and development.

I feel fortunate that I have got an opportunity to work for the Indian Army. I will surely do all that is possible, along with the Army, for building a new Kashmir. The Certificate of Appreciation given by the Indian Army has boosted my morale.
