Inamdar hospital doctor booked after death of accident victim

PUNE: NPNEWS24 ONLINE- An FIR has been registered against a doctor of the Inamdar Hospital in Fatimanagar after the death of an elderly man who was hit a speeding car. Police have also booked the unidentified driver of the car.

Smita Sahay (35) of Bandra (West), Mumbai, has lodged the complaint in this regard with Wanowrie police station under Pune city police. Her father Adhar Kumar had died during treatment.

As per the FIR, the Kumar was riding Activa from Magarpatta to Fergusson College on October 10. Around 8.30 am, a speeding Swift car hit his bike from behind near the Christian cemetery on Pune-Solapur road near the Croma chowk. He was taken to Inamdar hospital, however the doctor there did not take proper care during his treatment. Kumar succumbed to his injuries, Sahay stated in her complaint.

Police have booked the unidentified driver of the car and a doctor of the hospital for offences under sections 304a (causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code. The driver is also charged for rash driving.

Police sub inspector R P Bagul is further investigating the case.
