ICICI Bank manager cheats customers of ₹27 lakh; Makes fake entries in portfolio

PUNE : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | An incident has come to light wherein a branch manager of ICICI Bank cheated customers of ₹27.46 lakh by making fake entries in the portfolio by telling them that he will buy shares of ICICI Securities at a lesser price. (Pune Crime News)
Chetan Baliram Itape (36), a resident of Wagholi, has lodged a complaint (69/23) at the Koregaon park police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against Ashok Suryakant Kadam. The incident took place from May 2021 to October 2022.
According to the police, Ashok Kadam was manager of ICICI Bank. Taking undue advantage, he told the complainant that he will buy shares of ICICI Securities at a lower price. The complainant believed Kadam as he was the manager.
Kadam took ₹27.46 lakh from him on various occasions via PhonePay, GooglePay and NEFT. He made fake entries in the portfolio of ICICI Securities which showed that he had purchased it for him. After he realised that he had been cheated, he lodged a complaint. PSI Varal is investigating the case.
