Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro: Bid process complete

Hinjewadi is always crowded due to many Indian and Multi-national IT companies situated at MIDC’s Rajiv Gandhi IT park. Thousands of employees from IT Park across the Pune come here daily. Due to which they face heavy traffic congestion due to small widths which results in time wastage of many employees.

Relating to this issue PMRDA has decided to implement the Pune Metro Line 3 (Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar) Project. This project will benefit at around 1.92 lakh people on daily basis and it will help to save time, Fuel cost as well the this will reduce the statistics of accident.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has published the Project Report (DPR) on November 4, 2016. According to PMRDA this project will cost approx. Rs 8313 crores, out of which Rs 1811 crore is of the Land Acquisition.

The total length of this project is 23.3 kms which consist of 23 metro station. Government of Maharashtra has requested the Government of India to notify this project in the Gazette in accordance with the Central Metro Act 1978. Under the DBFOT (Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer) the government has approved the implementation of this project on 9th February 2018.

The Central government has principally approved to fund 20% of the project on March 7, 2018. A Government Resolution has been passed on February 9, 2018 by the State Government to provide lands worth 20% of the project costs and raise the VGF(Viability Gap Funding) share though auctioning these lands.

 As a part of this on July 31, 2018 Government of Maharashtra has handed over 5.6 hectare of land (Balewadi Sr.no 4/1/1) to PMRDA. As this Project is of public transportation domain which will help the IT sector near Hinjewadi and create new job opportunities, the land of 50 acres and adjacent land of 5 acres at Maan, Mulashi (for the approach line) is being procured through the MIDC.

Tata Reality Infra Pvt Ltd (TRIL) and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH has submitted the bid. It will be then submitted to PMRDA General Body after the scrutiny.
