Hardened criminal Saif Ali Wahid Bagwan detained at Kolhapur Central Jail; 10th action by CP Retesh Kumarr under MPDA Act

PUNE : NpNews24 Online  –   Pune Crime News | The Swargate police have detained Saif Ali Wahid Bagwan, a hardened criminal on their records. He was terrorising people within the Swargate police station limits. This is the 10th action taken by Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumarr under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act (MPDA). (Pune Crime News)

 

Saif Ali Wahid Bagwan (20), resident of Indira Nagar, Gultekdi, is a history sheeter. He, along with his accomplices, has committed serious crimes such as possessing sharp weapons, attempted murder and robbery within the limits of the Swargate police station. Four serious crimes were registered against him in the past five years.

 

A proposal for action against Bagwan under the MPDA Act was prepared by Senior PI Ashok Indalkar. After verifying all related documents, CP Retesh Kumarr instructed officials to detain Bagwan for one year at the Kolhapur Central Jail.

 

The action was taken by Senior PI Ashok Indalkar and PCB Crime Branch Senior PI Surekha Waghmare.

 

The CP has, till date, taken action under the MPDA Act against 10 criminals. The police said that they would continue to take action against criminals in the future also. Provisions under the MCOCA and externment are being used against them.
