Gujarat: Rupani government likely to take big decision in 48 hours to curb Coronavirus spread

New Delhi : The Vijay Rupani led state government may take a major decision on Saturday or Sunday to curb the Coronavirus spread. The state government has said this before the Gujarat High Court. The High Court heard Suo Moto and the non-disclosure petition over increasing Covid-19 cases in the state.

During the hearing, the Advocate General told the High Court that political rallies would not take place until Coronavirus spread came under control. So this weekend, the state government will take important decisions regarding strict measures to prevent the infection spread. The High Court also questioned what action would be taken if social distancing was not observed. The state government needs to work hard to stop the spread of the coronavirus transmission.

Notably, a record-breaking 1607 new cases were reported in the state yesterday. While a further 16 people died due to the corona infection. With this the total death toll from Corona has reached 3938.

There are currently 14732 active cases in the state, while a total of 186446 people have been discharged. The state currently has 96 patients on ventilator and 14636 people are stable. The total number of infected people in the state has reached 205116.

A total of 1388 patients were cured and 69283 tests were done in the state today. Along with this 762089 tests have been done in the state so far. The recovery rate in the state is 90.90 per cent.
