Gujarat: GTU postpones exams due to coronavirus outbreak, dates to be announced later

Ahmedabad : The educational institutes across the country are closed due to the growing transition to corona. In the meantime, the entire education system, from universities to schools, are troubled as they are not being able to come on a conclusion about exams. Universities are confused when making decisions on whether to take winter exams online or offline. On the other hand, a letter was written to the Vice-Chancellor of the Association of Technical Colleges asking them to take the GTU exam online instead of offline.

GTU’s offline exams starting from December 10 have been postponed. The decision has been made as the number of Corona cases are increasing. The decision has been taken after discussion in the meeting as it is not advisable to schedule the exam at present. GTU has promised to announce a new date after the situation improves. The course of the new semester will start from 3rd December. That is also stated by the system. However, at the present stage, the examination has been postponed.

It may be mentioned here that the examinations for various semesters of various PG courses of GTU will start from December 10. GTU has been asked by many students and colleges to postpone exams or conduct online exams. Universities are in the mood to postpone exams and schedule them in January or take them online. At present it is not possible to conduct the examination in any way. The Technical Colleges Association has also written a letter to the Vice-Chancellor in this regard and appealed to take GTU exams online.
