Goons assault family of paan kiosk owner; His wife receives serious injuries

PUNE: A gang of criminals assaulted a paan kiosk owner and his family with a bamboo stick because he refused to pay monthly protection money. A 52-year-old paan shop owner has lodged a complaint (222/23) at the Wanawadi police station. Based on it, the police have registered an FIR against Prashant Tikote, a resident of Kale Padal, Hadapsar and his three aides. The incident took place opposite Balaji paan shop at Kale Padal on Sunday at 9.30 pm.

According to the police, the complainant has a paan kiosk. Prashant Tikote and his aides demanded a monthly payment of ₹2,000. The complainant refused to give the money. When the complainant was at the kiosk with his wife and son, the goons assaulted them with a bamboo stick and created terror in the area. The hand of the complainant’s wife broke and she has been seriously injured.
