Good news for Punekars! Shops in the city will now remain open till 9 pm

Pune: Currently Unlock 5.0 is flagged off; Pune Police are making war like effort to stop the spread of coronavirus. However, this will increase as orders are issued to allow shops to remain open till 9 pm for all kinds of services. No exemption has yet been granted in the restricted area. However, exemptions have been granted by the administration outside the restricted area. The Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar has allowed the shops to remain open till 9 pm on Friday.

Earlier,The shops were given till 7 pm except for essential services. However, now shops for essential goods as well as services, drug stores, dispensaries will continue to operate on a daily basis at the same time. Other essentials shops, services (excluding drug stores, dispensaries), shops outside the restricted area in the Pune Municipal Corporation area will be open from 9 am to 9 pm as per the guidelines issued for them.

An order in this regard has been issued by Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar today. October 9 is effective from today. Shopping malls, market complexes will also be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. However, the cinemas will remain closed.

The active cases in Pune city have come down to 14,032 of which 869 are critical — 496 are on ventilators and  373 are without. The number of patients in oxygen supported cities has come down to 2,771. Pune districts accounts to 3, 01,392 and discharged in district are 2, 61,565. Maharashtra reported 13,395 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday, and with that, the tally has now climbed to 14, 93,884 and 358 people succumbed to the infection, taking the death toll due to 39,430
