Gavaskar-Anushka Controversy: See through your eyes, listen through your ears and then speak, says Gavaskar

New Delhi: Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has once again hit back at Anushka Sharma this time from commentary box. He said that one should react after listening carefully. The Anushka-Gavaskar controversy prevailed after Gavaskar’s comment was misquoted. Anushka had expressed her displeasure over the remarks made by Gavaskar. She believed that Gavaskar made objectionable remarks on her. She wrote on social media- ‘Mr. Gavaskar, you are a legend, whose name is taken as a gentleman in this game. I just wanted to tell you how I felt when you mentioned me’.

Gavaskar again replied

Gavaskar has been constantly clearing air since the controversy intensified after Anushka’s response. He claimed that his words were not well received and misquoted. Gavaskar once again spoke during the commentary on this issue. He said, ‘Virat only practiced on Anushka’s bowling. These were just my words. If anyone has any objection should listen to it again. What did I say wrong in that? I did not blame Anushka for Virat’s failure. Listen to it again, see. Do not believe to any other headline. Listen with your ears and see with eyes then speak’.

Anushka Sharma lashed out on Gavaskar

Anushka Sharma while sharing a post on Instagram said that ” Mr. Sunil Gavaskar, I want to tell you that your statement is quite distasteful is a fact but I would love for you to explain why you thought of making such a sweeping statement on wife of accusing her husband’s game? I am sure over years who may have respected the private lives of othe cricketers while commentating on game. Do you think you should have equal amount of respect for me and us?”

She further added, “I m sure you might have many other words and sentences in your mind to use to comment on my husbands from the last night performance or your worlds are only relevant when you use my name in the process”.
