From saying “No means No” to taking “Badla”

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE:       After Kahaani 2, maverick director Sujoy Ghosh has returned to the silver screen with another nail-biting thriller ‘Badla’. After a long wait Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu have dropped the Badla trailer on social media.

Badla seems to be that edge-of-the-seat crime drama film that Bollywood has been waiting for. Going by the trailer, we have estimated the following information that Amitabh Bachchan is playing a criminal lawyer Badal Gupta, who has a flawless track record of zero cases lost in four decades.

He is hired by Taapsee Pannu to solve a twisted murder mystery which involves the homicide of her boyfriend under suspicious circumstances. While Amitabh Bachchan questions Taapsee Pannu to keep her stance, he comes face to face with a shocking truth. While the actress tries to play a victim in the scenes, the chances of her being the real culprit can’t be ruled out. The trailer also has a zest of Amrita Singh with an appearance of a suspect as most of the characters seem to be in Sujoy Ghosh films, anything can be expected.

You cannot miss out on the Sherlock background score to intensive usage of piano, gives a vintage edge to the story.

Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan have worked together in Pink, it would be interesting to watch the duo nailing yet another twisted script.

The film is the remake of the 2016 Spanish thriller film Contratiempo. The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Azure Entertainment. It is slated to release on 8 March 2019.
