Four people including a policeman killed on the spot, 17 injured in accident on Pune-Solapur highway

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Solapur Highway Accident | Four people were killed on the spot and 17 people were injured in an accident that occurred when a private bus coming from Solapur to Pune hit a truck while overtaking. The accident took place at around 5:15 am at Yavat on Solapur-Pune highway. The dead include a policeman while the injured also include a policeman and his wife. (Pune Solapur Highway Accident)

 

The deceased are identified as police personnel Nitin Dilip Shinde (36) from Pune Police, Amar Mantash Kalshetty (20), Ganpat Malappa Patil (55) and Aarti Birajdar (25).

 

Akshay Chavan, police officer Basavaraj Ganappa Gaja, his wife Sonali Basavaraj Gaja are among the injured.

 

According to the details, a private travel bus was coming to Pune from Solapur. Around when all the passengers were asleep. The bus was overtaking a truck in front of a CNG pump near Mangaon. The driver miscalculated and hit the truck from behind. One side of the bus was completely damaged. The driver was also injured in this accident. As soon as the incident was reported, the Highway Police and Yavat Police rushed to the spot. Theyimmediately admitted the injured to the nearest hospital.

 

Police officer Nitin Dilip Shinde was working in Bharosa Cell, Pune. Basavraj Gaja is working at the Lashkar Police Station. Nitin Shinde had gone to Solapur to drop off a police inspector who had been transferred from Pune to Solapur.
