Four arrested for robbing cab driver in Pune

Pune: Hinjewadi police have arrested four persons for allegedly robbing a cab driver of Rs 15,600 late on Saturday night.

According to the information by police, a cab driver was robbed on the tip of the knife late at night when he was going from Pune to Mumbai.

The arrested accused have been identified as Salman Sabir Sheikh, (21 KN Kowadi), Shubham Srikanth Jadhav (19 N Jyotiba Nagar, Kalewadi), Prem Balaji Potdar (19 N Kailwadi), and Lalit Harikes Katrottia (20 N Kailwadi). One accused is still absconding.

The incident took place around 2 pm on Saturday at Bhumkar Chowk. Cab driver Balasaheb Kondiba Bundagar, 28, and resident of Kalewadi, filed a complaint with Hinjewadi police.

According to the Hinjewadi Police, the cab driver Bundagar got a fare to go to Mumbai on Friday night and he took passengers from Pune to Mumbai. when the cab reached Bhumkar chowk a person came on a bike and stopped the car showing a knife. The accused looted a total of Rs15,600 in cash from Bundagar.

Hinjewadi police are further investigating the case.
