First batch of Haji pilgrims  flagged off by Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

The Ministry of Minority Affairs in association with Haj Committee of India (HCI) and the Consulate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has completed preparations for Haj 2018 well before in time to ensure smooth Haj pilgrimage. A high-level committee meeting was held under the guidance of Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) and  Parliamentary Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi which was attended by His Excellency Saad Al Garny  of the Consulate General of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia , Haj Committee of Maharashtra CEO Maqsud Ahmed Khan ,Deputy CEO Fazal Ahmed Siddiqui , Ghanem Al Zubaidi , Ahmed Bin Issa Al Dahim , Vice Counsel Sami Yahya Tomaihi .The meeting was aimed at making Haj process transparent and smooth and giving best services to the devout.

Naqvi had earlier  flagged off the first batch of  Haj pilgrims from Maharashtra Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai on Sunday with prayers for country’s safety and prosperity on Sunday. Also present on the occasion were Consul General of Saudi Arabia Mr Saad Al Garny; Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar; BJP Mumbai president Ashish Shelar , Member of Parliament  and Hussain Dalwai.  The first batch of  Haj pilgrims from Mumbai  left for Jeddah on while a total 1,25,000  pilgrims will be facilitated by the government across Maharashtra  through Haj Committee  for this year. His excellency Saad Al Garny congratulated to Hajj pilgrims and extended best wishes to them for their pilgrimage.

He said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the dynamic vision of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman who is the custodian of the holiest cities of Mecca and Medina was doing a yeoman service through dedication, passion and commitment to the Hajis not only in India but across the world. Meanwhile, the Pune City District Hajj Committee in association with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out the vaccination drive of the pilgrims during a special camp held in the city a few days ago. The hajj training programme done by the committee in association with social activists and organisations has led to greater awareness about the religious rights and duties amongs the pilgrims heading for Hajj.
