Facebook friend post woman’s phone number on adult website

A man has been booked by Pune city police for allegedly duping a woman of ornaments and posting her name and phone number on an adult website. She had met him on Facebook and they became friends.

Based on the complaint from the 24-year-old woman, Wanowrie police station has registered an FIR against the man for offenses under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Information Technology Act.

According to police, the woman had found him on Facebook in June 2017 and started chatting with him. Later they became friends and when she needed Rs 25,000 cash she had given him her gold ornament and taken the money.

However, she returned the amount later on but the accused didn’t return her ornaments. On the other, he started abusing her and sent her several obscene photos on her email. Later he posted her phone number and photo on an adult website. She started getting calls from several unknown persons. After being fed up of the calls, she registered a police complaint against the accused Onkar Shankar Chaudhary of Kalyan, Mumbai.
