Extortion of ₹3 crore sought from builder by using name of former mayor Murlidhar Mohol

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News |An incident has come to light wherein an extortion of ₹3 crore was sought from a builder by using the name of BJP’s State General Secretary and former mayor Murlidhar Mohol. The Kothrud police have registered an FIR against two persons. (Pune Crime News)

 

The accused have been identified as Sandeep Pirgonda Patil and Shekhar Gajanan Takwane (35), a resident of Karve Road. A builder has lodged a complaint at the Kothrud police station. The incident took place on March 25 from 12 noon to 4.45 pm.

 

An FIR of seeking ransom and threatening has been registered under the IT Act against Patil and Takwane. The builder’s office is located on Paud Road. Two days ago, the accused contacted the builder on his mobile number. They sought extortion from him by using the name of Murlidhar Mohol’s cousin. They told him that a programme had been organised by Yuva Morcha of BJP and demanded ₹3 crore.

 

They also threatened him that if he does not give money, then he would be harmed in the future.
The builder lodged a complaint with the police. PI (crime) Bade is investigating the case.
