Expressway accident – 8 vehicles crash into each other, 1 person dead in another accident

Several persons were injured when eight vehicles crashed into each other on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. In another accident near the same spot, one person was killed.

The first accident took place in the Borghat section at km no. 37.800 around 6.30 am on Thursday. Due to the accident on lane towards Mumbai, there was a traffic jam for some time. One truck and container had collided resulting in the death of the truck driver.

While officials were removing these vehicles, five cars and other vehicles crashed into each other. A truck driver had lost balance and hit the divider rope and the vehicle suddenly came in the middle of the road. Drivers of the cars coming from behind could not control and they rammed into each other. Another truck coming from behind hit the cars.

There was traffic jam due to a collision between all these vehicles. Police said that luckily there was no casualty. The authorities have removed the vehicle to roadside and traffic is slow moving at the spot.
