Ex-SC Staffer alleged that she was ‘’not allowed’’ lawyer

Npnews24 online: The ex-SC woman staffer, who had leveled allegation of sexual harassment against Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi, on Tuesday, said she does not want to participate in the In-house inquiry. Ex-employed staff alleged that she was not allowed to have her lawyer or any person for legal support during ongoing hearing in the case.

She had been repeatedly asked by the committee as to why she had made this complaint of sexual harassment so late, ‘’ the atmosphere of the committee very frightening and was very nervous while being confronted and question by three Supreme Court Judges and without even the presence of my lawyer in my support, she added further.

Faced with the ordeal, the woman claimed that she went for the hearing on April 30 with a written letter when she explained the reason behind her sexual harassment complaint after several months.

Woman allegations against CJI were first came into limelight when some news portal reported it on April 20. She was removed from the service soon after she rejected sexual advances made by CJI, she claimed.
