Eight held, sandalwood, oil worth Rs 15 lakhs seized in Nandurbar Police’s raid on factories in Madhya Pradesh

Nandurbar : NpNews24 Online  – Nandurbar Police | The Nandurbar Police have exposed a racket cutting sandalwood trees from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and selling them to a sandalwood factory in Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh. The Nandurbar police raided the sandalwood factory and seized sandalwood and oil worth Rs 17.72. Also, a truck worth Rs 7 lakhs used to transport sandalwood and oil has also been impounded. The police arrested five people who were preparing to commit a robbery on the road leading to MIDC in Kothada Shivara near Navrang Gate in Navapur taluka. The arrested have been identified as Haider alias Israil Ismail Pathan (20) from Aurangabad, Irfan Ibrahim Pathan (35), Yusuf Asif Pathan (22), Gauskha Ismail Pathan (34) from Aurangabad) and Akilkha Ismailkha Pathan (22) from Jalna. All these five accused broke the rear window of Navapur police station lockup and escaped on December 5. After inquiry, Gauskha Pathan confessed that he cut sandalwood trees in September 2022 at Navapur with the help of his companions and also in Maharashtra and other states and sold them to Abdul Rehman Kader from Madhya Pradesh.

 

Nandurbar District SP PR Patil formed a team of Navapur Police Station and Local Crime Branch and sent it to Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh. This team went to Sendhwa Gawadi village and inquired about Abdul Kader. He was found to be running a factory called SB Aeromatrix. When the police team went to the factory, three persons were present. The police have identified them as Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader (58) from Kerala, Saudagar Sahdev Kolte (46) and Umesh Vilas Suryavanshi (40), both from Solapur.

 

When the team inspected the entire factory, in a Yodha truck of a Tata company it was found 292 kg of sandalwood pieces. After a close inspection of the factory, sandalwood essential oil worth Rs 17.72 lakh and a truck which was used to transport sandalwood were found there. On questioning Abdul Kader, he said Gauskhaw Pathan had brought stolen pieces of sandalwood from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, there is a possibility that some more cases of sandalwood theft will be revealed in these three states.

 

In this regard, SP PR Patil said that the network of this crime is very large. We will go to the root of the crime and arrest those involved and soon a strict legal action will be taken. Many crimes committed in all these three states are likely to be exposed from the arrested accused.

 

This action was taken by a team of Crime Branch comprising PI Kirankumar Khedkar, Navapur Police Station Inspector Dnyaneshwar Ware, PSI Ashok Mokal, Constable Dinesh Vasule, Police Naik Yogesh Thorat, Vinod Paradke, Hemant Saindane, Police Constable Ganesh Bachhe, Parmanand Kale, Dinesh Baviskar and Jitendra Ahirrao, Abhay Rajput under the guidance of SP PR Patil, Addl SP Nilesh Tambe, Sub Divisional Police Officer Sachin Hire.
