Educationalist Maruti Navale sent to Yerwada Jail

Pune: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – The Educationalist Maruti Navale has been charged with the contempt of court as he did not follow the orders of Bombay High Court. He is accused in the case of unpaid salaries of the professor in Sinhagad Institute. He has been punished with 7 days of imprisonment and two thousand rupees. On Wednesday he was being sent to Yerwada Jail.

After the medical check-up in Pune’s Sassoon Hospital On Wednesday, he was sent to the Yerwada Jail. Many Protests were organized by the professors of the Sinhagad Institute whose salaries are not paid for many months.

Even after the prot[amazon_link asins=’B078124279,B07811ZTKF,B077ZTYHTR’ template=’ProductCarousel’ store=’policenama100-21′ marketplace=’IN’ link_id=’8bc4031d-d2c1-11e8-9615-1519e7cf11ba’]ests, Sinhagad Institute didn’t look into the matter and thus the professors moved to the court and registered a case. Salaries of more than 18 crore rupees are still pending on Sinhagad Institute. The court had given the order to pay salaries in three stages.
9 crore was deposited by the Social Welfare Department in the account of Punjab National Bank. The income-tax department had deposited money in Navale’s account.  Navale had given the letter to the bank and the Income Tax Department, for the purpose of taking out 9 crore rupees. According to which income tax department allowed to withdraw money.

When this matter came to the attention of the court, the court ordered to take action on them as contempt of court against Navale and Income Tax Department officer Sadashiv Mokashi.

While hearing the contempt petition filed against Navale and Mokashi, the court sentenced both to seven-day imprisonment and fines of Rs 2 thousand.
