Domestic violence blows journalist’s police cover

Pune : NP News24 – Officials from Pune rural police on Saturday arrested a journalist, for allegedly possessing fake identity card of Assistant Police Inspector (API) of Satara Police. A pistol was also recovered from his house.

Police have identified him as Ganesh Waikar of Karla village in Maval taluka. An FIR has been registered against him with Lonavala rural police station under Pune rural police.

According to police, on Friday night Waikar’s wife called the police control room and informed that her husband was threatening her with pistol and trying to throw her out of house. Soon a police team reached there and recovered pistol and the fake ID card.

A magistrate court has remanded Waikar to police custody for two days. Police are investigating from where he procured the pistol and fake ID card of police officer.
