Disputation over Netaji’s Legacy in Bengal, ‘Bose had opposed Hindu Mahasabha’s ‘Divisive Policy’, said Mamta

NP NEWS 24 : Kolkata : On the occasion of the 123th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose- a nationalist leader and freedom fighter, political parties in Bengal were seen to be dispute on his legacy. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose, mass prayers and processions were organized in the state and the city where he was residing. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was in Darjeeling. She paid tribute to Bose, saying that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had fought for a secular and united India and had opposed the ‘divisive politics’ of the Hindu Mahasabha. Banerjee’s reference was indirectly to the BJP and its leaders.

Banerjee said in an event held here on the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose that the country needs leaders like Netaji who can take everyone along. She demanded that Netaji’s birthday be declared as a national holiday. She said that Bose conveyed the message of respect to all religions through his struggle for independence and a true tribute to the nationalist leader would be to work for a united India.
