PUNE: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- The 33rd Pune International Marathon has got over today (Sunday). People were very excited about this and they participated in it with  full zeal and enthusiasm.

The African players dominated as usual. Ethiopian athlete Atalav Debed became the winner of this marathon. He won the 42km Main Full Marathon category. Total 15 thousand participants did registered for this marathon. It includes 102 foreign participants.

The Marathon was started from Baburao Sanas Maidan, near Sarasbaug at 5 am by the hands of former MP Suresh Kalmadi. MP Vandana Chavan, Paralympics’ first gold medal winner  Murlikant Petkar, and Lieutenant General of Military Intelligence School RK Bansiwal were present on the occasion.

The Marathon was organized for various intervals including the full marathon (main) 42 km, half marathon 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and wheelchairs.
