There are vacancies in Mumbai ATS, says DGP Pandey in Facebook post

Mumbai : NpNews24 Online State DGP Sanjay Pandey who is in the news because of the court proceedings, has come into the limelight again after his post on Facebook. Pandey has said in his post that there are two vacancies of superintendent of police in the Mumbai ATS unit.

Pandey is very active on social media but he is in the news because he posts regular updates about his work on social media.

In his Facebook post, Pandey says that there are vacancies of two posts of SP in Mumbai ATS. A posting in ATS is considered a prestigious one and an officer gets a special 25 per cent allowance. Interested officers can contact ADG-ATS, he said in the post.

The ATS chief has sent a letter to the state government seeking additional manpower. According to a report published in an English daily, senior officers are not willing to work in the prestigious unit like ATS. Some retired and serving police officers have said that the state ATS has lost its sheen in the last few years because the National Investigation Agency has taken charge of some important cases. Some of these cases were widely discussed.

ATS chief IPS Vineet Agarwal holds the rank of additional director-general. The post of inspector general of police is vacant as former IGP Suhas Warke was transferred one year ago. DIG Shivdeep Lande has been again sent to Bihar. His post is also vacant and hence, there are two vacancies of SP level officers.
