Considering the increasing population here, it is necessary to create a good liveable atmosphere, education, health and environment facilities and efforts are being made in that direction.

When there was sufficient water in Pune, a negative impression was created that 25 to 30 per cent of the population was deprived of water due to the faults in the distribution system. Hence, on the lines of Nagpur, the 24×7 water supply project is being started in Baner-Balewadi area. Sus-Mhalunge is a growing area and in the future, it will develop very fast. Since development was happening in a planned manner, it is necessary to make adequate drinking water arrangements. Hence, considering the population in the future, water supply arrangements will be made.

When the suburbs are linked to Pune city, the Metro will play an important role in streamlining the traffic. The works being executed at Chandni Chowk will help in smoothening the traffic. The maximum number of electric buses are plying in Pune. In the future, efforts will be made to provide better services to the common through the integrated transport system.
Fifteen Smart City projects have been completed in Pune. A project of recycling waste is being started in Pune and water recycling is also very important. Clean water can be used for drinking and agriculture. A project costing ₹1,900 crore has been started for cleaning of Mula-Mutha river. This will help in cleaning the river. Efforts will be made to improve the quality of Puneites by striking a balance between environment and speedy development.

Since the water was not reaching far flung areas, it has been proposed to build 85 tanks under the 24×7 water supply project. The work of 60 tanks has been completed. After the entire project is completed, 4 TMC water which was going water, can be used. Along with this, the treated waste water from 18 waste water treatment plants funded by the ₹2,000 core JAICA project can be used for other purposes. Since this water will be used in industries, the clean water being used there will be available for citizens.” He thanked Fadnavis for sanctioning such important projects while he was the chief minister.

Deputy Chairperson of Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe said, “In summers, women experience water shortage. Residents of other cities also come to Pune. Pune has a good environment and water.
