Delhi Riots were Prepared in Advance; Acid, Petrol, Bricks & Stone were Stocked Up in Every House : Chargesheet

New Delhi : The Delhi riots earlier this year shook the nation. After 5 months of severe violence and arson, curtains of this heinous riots have started coming down. Delhi Police’s Crime Branch filed chargesheets in Karkardooma Court today against Aam Aadmi Party councilor Tahir Hussain and 2 women members of Pinjra Tod group involved in the Delhi riots. Both these chargesheets clearly show how the ruling party councilors in Delhi (who were later expelled by the party) and women members of the Pinjra Tod group, Natasha Narwal and Devangana Kalita, instigated the riots.

The chargesheet states that these two women members of the Pinjra Tod group also have close ties with Omar Khalid, accused of treason. On 25 February 2020, a man named Aman was killed in the firing in the Zafarabad riots in north-east Delhi, the police recovered 35 cartridges of different bore from the spot. In this case, 12 people including Pinjra Tod group member Natasha Narwal and Devangana Kalita were arrested. The investigation also mentions a deep conspiracy behind the riots.

It is clearly written in the charge sheet that these two girls were also related to ‘India Against Hate’, a group running on WhatsApp. A WhatsApp chat from an accused’s mobile revealed that the conspiracy for the Delhi riots had already been hatched.

In this chat, it was written that what should the women of the house do in the event of a riot?
# Keep hot and boiling water in the house.
# Throw oil, shampoo or surf on the stairs of the building.
# Use red chili or powder in hot water.
# Make the doors strong, install the grill and iron gate as soon as possible.
# Keep the acid bottle ready at home.
# Stock-up bricks and stones on the balcony and roof.
# Remove petrol from car and bike.
# Use electric current in the iron door.
# All the men of the building must not leave the building together. Some people stay for the safety of the family.

Also, in the charge sheet filed against the councilor in the Khajuri Khas area riots and Arms Act case, it is written that the councilor Tahir Hussain is the mastermind of the riots in which his younger brother Shah Alam has also the main role. Tahir had released his licensed pistol from Khajuri Khas police station a day before the riots. Tahir’s connections are also found with Khalid Saifi and Umar Khalid who played key roles in the Delhi riots.

During the riots, a carat of glass bottles was recovered from the roof of Tahir Hussain, which was filled with some flammable liquids and clothes were tied on the bottle mouth. Also, huge quantities of brick, stone and slingshot have also been recovered. According to Delhi Police, 3 SITs were constituted to investigate the north-east Delhi riots. A total of 59 cases were registered.
