Defence employee ends life due to harassment by wife, in-laws

Pimpri : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime | A defence employee ended life due to harassment by his wife and in-laws at Parandwal Chowk in Dehu Gaon on January 26. Five people have been booked in this regard. (Pune Crime)

The victim has been identified as Prakash Baburao Harkal. According to details, the complainant’s brother Prakash Harkal was employed in defence services. Prakash got married to Sindhu. However, Sindhu and her parents and brothers always insulted him. They demanded Rs 10 lakh for taking divorce from her. They also threatened to lodge fake cases against him. Fed up with this, Prakash hanged himself at his residence.

Later, the victim’s sister Babysaroj Vilas Doke (30), a resident of Parbhani, lodged a complaint at the Dehu Road police station on Tuesday (February 1). On the basis of the plaint, victim’s wife Sindhu Prakash Harkal, his father-in-law Kisan Namdev Shinde, mother-in-law Radhabai Shinde, brothers-in-law Sandeep Shinde and Damodar Shinde, all residents of Khalapur, hailing from Nashik, have been booked for abetting the suicide.
