Couple disappears after cheating shopkeepers of ₹73 lakh

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | Two people borrowed different products for their restaurant from various shopkeepers and later, they sold the restaurant and have disappeared. The shopkeepers have been cheated of ₹73 lakh 65 thousand. (Pune Crime News)

 

Avdhesh Upadhyay (39), a resident of Mundhwa, has lodged a complaint (98/23) at the Chandan Nagar police station. Accordingly, the police have registered an FIR against Shaukat Ali Khan and Renuratan Shaukat Ali Khan, a resident of Kharadi. The incident took place at Skyhigh and Glass High restaurant from 2016 to December 30, 2022.

 

According to the police, Shaukat Ali Khan and his wife Renuratan Khan had taken milk and milk products from time to time for their restaurant from the complainant and cheated him by not paying him ₹39 lakh. They took coal from Simarjit Jasbirsingh Arora and cheated him of ₹6.84 lakh. They took fish worth ₹6.82 lakh from Ashwin Pardeshi and vegetables worth ₹19.23 lakh from Vijay Shivle. They took grocery items worth ₹1.74 lakh from Shrikant Kapse.

 

These people had thought that since they had a restaurant, they will return their money. However, they suddenly shut their restaurant on December 30 and disappeared. The police have registered and FIR and API Khandekar is probing the case.
