Cops Suspended In Pune | DCP Rohidas Pawar suspends three policemen; Accused flees while being escorted to Yerawada Jail
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Cops Suspended In Pune | Three police personnel have been immediately suspended after one of the three undertrials who they were supposed to produce in the court and bring them back to the Yerawada jail, ran away while being transported in a private autorickshaw. The suspended policemen have been identified as Muralidhar Mahadu Kokne, Police Nilesh Vinayak Guruv and Rajudas Ramji Chavan. Their suspension orders were issued by DCP Rohidas Pawar.
The three policemen are deployed as court company at the police headquarters. They had been given the task of escorting the accused from the Yerawada Jail to the court and bringing them back on August 2. They produced the accused in the court. One of the accused (Rajesh Raosaheb Kamble) was given a date after a couple of days. The work relating to the cases of the two accused was going on. Rajudas Chavan said that he will take Rajesh Kamble by a private rickshaw to the Yerawada Jail. The other two policemen gave their approval.
When Chavan was taking Kamble in an autorickshaw, Kamble told Chavan he was feeling thirsty and stopped the vehicle. Kamble alighted from the vehicle to drink water and sat on the two-wheeler of his friend and ran away. An FIR has been registered at the Shivaji Nagar police station.
Since the accused ran away, the three policemen have been suspended.
