Cop, warden held for demanding Rs 7,000 bribe

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune ACB Trap | The Anti-Corruption Bureau, Pune nabbed a police constable and a warden red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000. The accused sought Rs 10,000 for not acting against a biker, whose motorcycle was impounded for traffic rule violation. However, they settled for Rs 7,000. (Pune ACB Trap)

 

The arrested have been identified as Appasaheb Ambadas Jaibhai (32), the traffic police constable and Kishore Bhagwan Chaugule (43), the warden.

 

According to the ACB, the Chakan traffic division had seized the complainant’s motorcycle. Jaibhai demanded Rs 10,000 for not taking any action and to return the vehicle. The complainant then approached the ACB. The complaint was verified on Tuesday. The complainant and Jaibhai reached a compromise and the latter settled for Rs 7,000. Warden Chaugule helped Jaibhai in this.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of SP Rajesh Bansode and ASP Suraj Gurav. A team comprising ACP Shital Ghogare, police personnel Riyaz Shaikh, Saurabh Mahashabde, Chandrakant Kadam set a trap and arrested the duo while accepting Rs 7,000 from the complainant.
