CM Shinde and DCM Fadnavis attended meeting with Shah; why are they silent now? asks Ajit Pawar

Pune :  NpNews24 Online  –  MPSC Students Protest in Pune | A few days ago, the chief ministers of both Karnataka and Maharashtra had a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the border issue. However, Marathi leaders are still being arrested by Karnataka in the border areas. On this, the state’s opposition leader Ajit Pawar has criticised the Shinde-Fadnavis government. Ajit Pawar was talking to reporters in Nagpur ahead of the winter session. (MPSC Students Protest in Pune)

The session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly is also starting in Belgaum. In this background, the Maharashtra Integration Committee decided to organise a meeting at the Vaccine ground. But the police refused permission for the gathering and section 144 has been imposed in Karnataka. Marathi leaders have also been arrested here.

Speaking in Nagpur, Pawar said, “A few days ago, the Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Maharashtra had a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In that meeting, it was decided that no one should be obstructed to go into each other’s state. MP Dhairyasheel Mane was also asked not to come to Karnataka. Marathi leaders are being arrested in Belgaum.”

Speaking further on the border issue, Pawar said, “Since the Maharashtra-Karnataka border issue is in the Supreme Court, everyone has to accept the verdict of the court. But the Marathi people are being arrested in Belgaum. The CM there seems to be taking a different stance. CM Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis were both present at the meeting held with the Union Home Minister. But they should tell the people of Maharashtra who are not honouring the decision taken in meeting with the Home Minister. It should also be made clear what action will be taken later.”
