China’s Defence Minister Wants To Meet Rajnath Singh At SCO Amidst Tension In Ladakh

New Delhi : China’s Defence Minister Wei Fang has expressed a desire to meet Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh on Friday. Feng and Rajnath Singh are present in the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Moscow. Earlier on Thursday, Rajnath Singh met with Russian Defence Minister General Sergey Shoigu. Rajnath Singh tweeted that he had a wonderful meeting with his Russian counterpart.

The Chinese Defence Minister has expressed his desire to meet Rajnath Singh amid the ongoing dispute between army of India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Both countries want to resolve the tension through dialogue and for this many rounds of talks have been held. On the other hand, Rajnath Singh is present in the SCO meeting in Moscow, on the other hand, on September 10, Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar is also going to Moscow. Jaishankar will participate in the meeting of foreign ministers at the SCO.

Chinese Defence Minister Wei Feng is one of the four members of the Central Military Commission of China, whose position is very important. The commission is headed by President Xi Jinping, while the rest of its members include the names of Shu Qiliang and Zhang Youxia. The purpose of the meeting of defence ministers in SCO is to increase mutual cooperation to deal with the issue of terrorism. The SCO includes member countries such as India, China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
