Pune : Chandrakant Patil Birthday | District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil has his birthday today (June 10). People from all walks of life in the district are giving Patil good wishes on this occasion. Many prominent citizens on Friday night met the minister at his residence in Kothrud and wished him. Workers and leaders have been showering good wishes on Patil since Saturday morning.
Every year, Patil celebrates his birthday by taking up some social project. He makes it a point not to celebrate it in the Western style. He has dedicated his birthday to health services this year. He has appealed to party workers not to present bouquets or gifts to him. He has instead asked them to contribute funds to help patients from financially weaker sections.
His followers are responding to his appeal positively. Entrepreneur Samir Patil, along with many workers, met the minister late on Friday night and wished him well. They handed over cheques to him for the cause.
Workers have been crowding his offices at Kothrud and Baner from Saturday morning. Former corporators and office-bearers from Kothrud called on Patil. They also contributed to his social project by donating sums of varying amounts in the form of cheques.
