Chakan police station constable cuaght taking Rs 50,000 bribe

Pune : Policenama online – The sleuths from the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) today arrested a constable of Chakan police station, Pimpri-Chinchwad police, while allegedly accepting Rs 50,000.

According to ACB, constable Sharad Lokhande had demanded Rs 1.3 lakhs bribe to help release seized vehicles. After negotiation, the demand was brought down to Rs 1 lakh.

Around 1 pm on Thursday, Lokhande was caught red handed while accepting first installment of Rs 50,000.

The process of filling an FIR against him is going on at Chakan police station.

A team under guidance of Superintendent of Police (ACB, Pune) Sandip Diwan is further investigating the case.
