What Abdul Wali Wahab Qureshi, a resident of Arab Galli, Nagpada, Mumbai, stated in his complaint ?

On July 29, 2009, Qureshi stated to police, “Since last 4 yrs. I am serving as driver of Zahid Ghulam Hussain Mir, age 54 Yrs.-, Motilal Chawl, Arab Galli, Mumbai — 8. I am aware that, Zahid Mir has financed Taj Tower which is under construction at Arab Galli and Maulana Shaukat Ali Marg Junction, Mumbai — 8 and Mir Building behind it. Similarly he owns Firdaus Guest House near Play House Junction. Zahid Mir was earlier in business of Matka and Social Club gambling. Today 29/07/2009 at around 8.20 at night I walked from my residential premise-s—to Taj Tower, Maulana Shaukat Ali Marg, Play House Junction, Nagpada, -Mumbai. At that time Zahid Mir was sitting in a chair below a temperory shade erected near compound shade, in front of Taj Tower which is under construction, and his niece Arshad Abrar Hussain Sayyed, R/o. Meer Apartment, Arab Galli, Mumbai was seating on his right side. I was standing on his right side at a distance of 10 to 15 feet. Similarly Ashok Behra and Zahid Mir’s servant Jagbhavan alias Jagmohan Pal were seating on chair near Gate inside Taj ‘Tower Building compound.

At around 8.45 hrs. at night above while I was present at above said place on the right side of Zahid Meer and Arshad Sayyed, Zahid Mir loudly screamed “Are Ilya”‘. Hence I looked in the said direction and saw two people described below on his left side holding revolvers in their hands and firing at him. Hence I ran in their direction when they also fired in my direction. The bullet hit me on my right hand elbow. Therefore I screamed at them. While going towards them I felled down due to the bullet injuries by me. At that time again I heard the sounds of firing. On seeing the firing the people nearby started running helter skelter. Motorists stopped their vehicles and they also ran helter skelter. It caused traffic jam. I was feeling pain due to bullet.”
