Car driver drags traffic constable on bonnet for 500 metres in Khadki

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | A shocking incident took place at Churcha Chowk opposite Khadki police station at 12.30 pm on Friday where a traffic constable, who was trying to stop the driver of a speeding car, was dragged for 50 metres on the bonnet. The arrested accused has been identified as Suraj Bharat Jadhav (29), a resident of Dehu Road. Policeman Ganesh Shivaji Rabade (33), working in the transport department at Khadki, has lodged a complaint. On Friday at 12.30 pm, Rabade and policeman Vijay Dharma Adhari were regulating traffic at Churcha Chowk. They tried to stop an Accent car (MH 12 QG 4265) which had cut the lane and came from the underpass. The accused, Suraj Jadhav, did not stop the car and tried to overrun Rabade. The latter jumped on the bonnet to save himself.

 

Suraj Jadhav did not stop the car and dragged Rabade for 50 metres. Local residents forced Jadhav to stop the car. The police registered an FIR against Jadhav and arrested him. Meanwhile, Rabade has suffered injuries on his left leg. Woman PSI Patil is probing the incident.
