BREAKING : Malayalam Actor Anil Murali Passes Away at 56

Chennai: Malayalam actor Anil Murali, who was getting treatment for liver-related ailments for a while, passed away on Thursday at a private hospital in Kochi. He was 56 years old. Anil’s sudden demise has come as a huge shock to everyone in the Malayalam film industry.

Many celebrities including Tovino Thomas and Prithviraj Sukumaran took to social media to condole his death. He hailed from Thiruvananthapuram and survived by his wife Sum and two children, Adithya and Arundhathi.

Film Career:

Before making his film debut, Anil Murali had acted in a handful of Malayalam serials. He made his film debut with Kanyakumariyil Oru Kavitha in 1993. He then went on to act in several Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films. Having acted in over 200 films, Anil Murali was famous for playing negative roles in films. Eventually, he took on character roles in Malayalam and Tamil films. Some of his famous films include Rock & Roll, City of God, Bodyguard, Avatharam, Uyare and Brother’s Day.

Anil Murali was last seen in Tovino Thomas’s Forensic, which released on February 28. Starring Tovino Thomas, the film received a mixed review from the audience and critics alike. His upcoming film Professor Dinkan will be his last film. Touted to be a 3D fantasy comedy, the film stars Dileep and Namitha Pramod in the lead roles.

Who was Anil Murali ?

He was born to Muraleedharan Nair and Sreekumari Amma at Thiruvananthapuram. He has an elder brother and a younger sister. Anil was married to Suma. They have a son, Adithya and a daughter, Arundathi. He passed away on 30 July 2020 at Aster Medcity, Kochi due to liver disease
