Pune : In a significant development, the High Court has directed the Pune Collector to pass orders expeditiously, or within two weeks at the latest, regarding the suspended liquor licenses following a writ filed by Pune’s 2BHK Diner & Key Club owned by Dr. Heramb Shelke. The Collector’s decision to temporarily suspend the licenses was made in the context of the Pune Porsche accident case.

Pune restaurateurs had made multiple appeals to the authorities to address the financial losses caused by the license suspensions. Various protests were organized by owners, staff, and vendors to highlight the detrimental effects of this decision. Despite the appeals, the Collector had hesitated to revoke the suspensions.

Taking proactive steps, 2BHK filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking resolution. Today’s ruling by the High Court brings a sigh of relief to Dr. Heramb Shelke, the bar owners, and numerous individuals impacted directly and indirectly by the license suspensions. Dr. Heramb Shelke expressed gratitude to the High Court for expediting the case and reiterated their commitment to operating within legal boundaries, prohibiting any illegal activities on their premises. This decision is expected to have a positive impact on the operations and livelihoods of all associated with these establishments.
