Black marketing of foodgrains supplied through PDS; Khadak police arrest three people in Bhavani Peth
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | The Khadak police have exposed a racket of black marketing of grains supplied through the Public Distribution System (PDS). Three people have been arrested from Bhavani Peth and 2,700 kg of rice and other goods worth ₹3.4 lakh have been seized. (Pune Crime News)
The accused have been identified as Javed Lalu Shaikh (35), Abbas Abdul Sarkavas (34) and Imran Abdul Shaikh, all residents of Bhavani Peth. Policeman Mahesh Prakash Jadhav from Khadak police station has lodged a complaint.
On April 11 at 12.30 pm, the accused were taking foodgrains for sale in the black market after collecting them from ration shop owners in Kashewadi in Bhavani Peth near Rajiv Gandhi Society. Their temp was going to Kedgaon in Daund taluka when the police stopped them and exposed the racket.
Sr PI Sangeeta Yadav of Khadak police station, PI (crime) Sampatrao Raut and API Nitinkumar Naik visited the spot. API HM Kale is investigating the case under the guidance of senior officers.
