BJP leader on bail; after hitting a government official

NPnews online, Indore: Senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya son Akash Vijayvargiya, was welcomed with garlands after being released from judicial custody on bail.

Akash was arrested for hitting a civic body official in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday and was in judicial custody.Today he was given bail by a special court in Bhopal. “I am not guilty about what I did as it was in public interest. I will keep working for the betterment of the region and the public, I pray to god that I should not be given another opportunity to pick up the bat. ” Vijayvargiya said after he stepped out of the jail.

Akash went straight to the party office after being release. Party workers had fired shots in the air at the BJP office to celebrate his remission.
In a video the BJP leader is seen assaulting a on duty civil body officer. It is seen that he is attacking the official with bat.

The video of the assault was shared widely on social media.

The official, who was beaten up, was on an anti-encroachment drive. He threatened them to leave within five minutes.

“In the BJP, we’ve been taught, pehle aavedan, phir nivedan aur phir danadan (first request and then attack),” Akash Vijayvargiya had stated to reporters after the assault.

BJP chief Amit Shah, had sought a report on the case from the party’s Madhya Pradesh unit.

Drawing criticism from opposition Chief Minister Kamal Nath took a dig at the Mr. Vijayvargiya, saying, “Cricket bat should be used to symbolize nation’s victory, not the defeat of democracy.”
