Big Blow To Congress In Manipur, 5 MLAs Who Resigned From The Party Joins BJP
Imphal : It seems the political environment for congress is unfavourable in Manipur. 5 MLAs from Congress joined BJP party. Recently, these MLA resigned from congress. One among this MLA Okram Henry Singh is nephew of CLP Leader Okram Ibobi Singh. On Wednesday, he joined the BJP in presence of CM, BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, National Vice President Baijayant Panda.
Along with congress MLA and 6 former congress MLAs, CM Biren Singh went to Delhi. These MLAs are those who gave their resignation on 10th August and left the congress party on 11th August.

All these MLAs are among those who abstained from the one-day session of the assembly by violating the Congress whip last week and thus the BJP’s N Biren Singh government won the trust vote. After reaching Delhi, CM Biren Singh had said, ‘6 MLAs have resigned from Congress and want to join BJP. So I brought them here.’
