Bhajans on UP DJ, No more film song: Yogi

NPnews24 Online lucknow: As the Kanwar yatra’s preparation is are in full swing the Kanwar yatras is scheduled to begin from 17th of July. The yatra marks the onset of Hindu month of Saawan. The arrangements are monitored and ensured the proper security for the devotees by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. “DJ music won’t be banned provided they will play bhajans and not film songs” he said on Wednesday while going through the preparation with police officers and senior administrative at Lok Bhavan.
Yogi Adityanath has also directed the officials to shower flower petals from helicopters on devotees. The Kanwariyas can play DJ music, which should include only bhajans, Yogi specified. CCTV cameras should be installed in the crowded areas, he said. He had also asked officials to identify Shiv temples in their areas and ensure cleanliness, proper drinking water, electricity and security at the shrines. Every year the devotees of lord Shiva attend this annual pilgrimage.They travel Sultanganj to collect holy from the river Ganges. They also visit Hindu pilgrimage place like Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand and Stored in pitcher, the water is carried on the shoulders by the devotees on small bamboo pole called “Kanwar”. 
The collected holy water is then offered to lord Shiv in local temples. The reason why the carriers are called Kanwars or Kanwariyas. The CM instructed the officials to have proper security measures and check that no illegal animal slaughter takes place as this year kanwar yatra will fall on same day as Bakrid on August 12.
