Badminton player Jwala Gutta hitched to Vishnu Vishal on her birthday

Badminton player Jwala Gutta, who turned 37 this year was proposed by her boyfriend on her birthday. Instead of planning a surprise birthday bash, the actor went one step further and surprised Jwala with an engagement ring.

Vishnu took to social media to announce his engagement to the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medallist. He captioned the post- “Happy birthday @jwalagutta1 New start to LIFE.. Lets be positive and work towards a better future for us,Aryan,our families,friends and people around..Need all your love n blessings guys.

According to media reports on engagement, Vishnu said, “I wanted to do something special for Jwala for her birthday and then at the spur of the moment, I thought why not surprise her by popping the question. It was something we had discussed before and last night, it just felt like the right moment. It was a spontaneous gesture and thankfully, she said yes.”

However, Vishnu Vishal had something else in mind. A large statement ring made out of black metal with enamel detailing in the centre was what he chose for the romantic, impromptu ‘jugaad ring’. The ring with intricate detailing in metal sees a colourful centre, featuring what looks like Krishna and his gopikas from Indian mythology, a perfect tribute to eternal love.
