Arrested accused assaults policemen at Wakad
PIMPRI : NpNews24 Online – Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime | An accused who was being taken for questioning in connection with a case registered at the police station, assaulted two policemen and bit them. He also scratched them with his nails. The incident took place at Kokne Chowk at Pimple Saudagar at 1 pm on Friday. One person has been arrested. (Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime)
Police constable Santosh Maruti Barge (44) has lodged a complaint at the Wakad police station. The police have registered an FIR against Khandu Jalindar Londhe (23), a resident of Rahatani, under sections 353 and 332 of the IPC and arrested him.
According to the police, the complainant Barge and policeman Khedkar were on patrolling duty. When they came to Kokne Chowk, they saw absconding accused Khandu Londhe. They told Londhe to accompany them to the police station for questioning but he refused and tried to escape.
They tried to catch the accused but he assaulted them and scratched Barge’s hands with his nails. He also bit on their hands. Londhe has been arrested for obstructing official work. The police are investigating the incident.
