Are the police supposed to maintain security or wash politicians’ cars, asks former MLA Sapkal (Video)

Buldhana: Former Buldhana MLA Harshwardhan Sapkal has posted a video clip on social media of a policeman washing a car belonging to Shiv Sena (BT) MLA Sanjay Gaikwad.
In his post, Sapkal has asked whether the police are supposed to maintain law and order or wash cars of MLAs.
On the one hand, sexual assaults on women have increased in the State. Victims are made to wait for over 12 hours to lodge a complaint. On the other hand, the police personnel are busy washing cars of MLAs and politicians in the State, alleged Sapkal in his post.
The video clip shows a policeman washing MLA Sanjay Gaikwad’s car in front of the latter’s office in the morning on Thursday. The clip has been shared by Harshwardhan Sapkal on Facebook and he has criticised the police and the government.
Sapkal’s post stated: ‘It is the surrender of the police. You have ruined my Maharashtra! Be ashamed of yourself, Maharashtra Police! The State Police, whose motto is to protect the common people and bash criminals, are busy washing cars of MLAs instead of protecting our sisters and mothers. MLA Sanjay Gaikwad made an insensitive statement a couple of days ago if the Chief Minister was supposed to guard schools. If an SP was supposed to visit a criminal’s house. We got an answer to his questions this morning: The police are supposed to wash MLAs’ cars. This incident has tainted the image of progressive Maharashtra. It has been proven how bootlicking the police have become. You have ruined my Maharashtra!’
Shiv Sena (BT) MLA Sanjay Gaikwad’s son used arrogant language on Wednesday. Another incident involving Gaikwad has come to light now.
