Appa Londhe murder case: Main accused Vishnu Jadhav, 6 others get lifer


Pune : NpNews24 OnlineAppa Londhe Murder Case | The main accused in the Appa Londhe murder case, Vishnu Jadhav, and six others have been sentenced to life imprisonment. Appa Londhe had been killed in Uruli Kanchan in Haveli taluka by firing bullets at him and sharp weapons.


The court has acquitted Gorakh Kankate and nine others in connection with the case for lack of concrete evidence. The accused who have been sentenced for life are Santosh Bhimrao Shinde (34), a resident of Shindvane, Nilesh Khandu Solankar (30), a resident of Dalimb Dattwadi, Rajendra Vijay Gaikwad (24), a resident of Shindawane, Akash Sunil Mahadik (20), Vishnu Yashvant Jadhav (37), a resident of Malwadi, Sortapwadi, Nagesh Lakhan Zadkar (27), a resident of Pandharsthal, Uruli Kanchan. The sentence was pronounced by District Sessions Court Judge Shirsekar.


The court freed Nitin Mahadev Mughal (27), Mani Kumar Chandra alias Anna (45), a resident of Yearawada, hailing from Rampur, Andhra Pradesh, Vikas Prabhakar Yadav (31), a resident of Uruli Kanchan, Gorakh Baban Kankate, a resident of Keregaon, hailing from Haveli taluka, Anna alias Babdya Kisan Gawari, a resident of Memanewadi, Daund taluka, Pramod alias Bapu Kaluram Kanchan, Somnath Kaluram Kanchan, Ravindra Shankar Gaikwad, a resident of Uruli Kanchan, Pravin Maruti Kunjir, a resident of Haveli taluka in connection with the case.


Notorious criminal Appa alias Prakash Hirabhau Londhe had gone for a morning walk on Shindvane Road in the limits of Uruli Kanchan gram panchayat on May 28, 2015. While he was walking, at 5.30 am, some unknown assailants fired at him. Londhe received bullet injuries on his chest and stomach. Later, the assailants attacked him with sharp weapons. Londhe died on the spot.


The police had submitted a chargesheet against main suspect Vishnu Jadhav and 15 others. The District Sessions Court gave its ruling on May 5 (Thursday).


Notorious criminal Appa Londhe had spread a reign of terror in Baramati, Daund and Haveli talukas and other parts of the district. More than 50 cases are registered against Appa Londhe like murder, attempt to murder, grabbing of property etc. Action had been taken against him under MCOCA. He had been convicted in four cases. In 2002, his brother Vilas Londhe had been killed over previous enmity.


Gorakh Kankate has been freed in connection with the Appa Londhe murder case but he is serving life imprisonment in Vilas Londhe murder case.
