AoL works to bring smiles on farmers’ faces- Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Devendra Fadnavis | Through the Jalayukt Shivar Yojana, the Art of Living (AoL) solved drought-related issues by reaching out to many villages, brought water to farmers, said Devendra Fadnavis. Fadnavis was speaking at the Bhakti Utsav-Mahasatsang programme organised at Kothrud. On this occasion, District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, MLA Shahaji Patil, entrepreneur Anirudh Deshpande, entrepreneur Suryakant Kakade, former mayor Muralidhar Mohol, Vishal Gokhale and others were present.

 

Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis said, while improving the lives of many people through Art of Living, Gurudev also taught us social responsibility. Volunteers of Art of Living worked to transform the lives of farmers and revived 17 rivers in Maharashtra. Art of Living has been a front-runner among the NGOs that did well under the Jalayukta Shivar Yojana.

 

Gurudev – the messenger of Indian culture

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar revived Indian culture and spirituality among Indians and in many countries of the world. He is seen as the messenger of Indian culture. Gurudev worked to unite all the religions of the world through the World Peace Conference. While doing this, he worked to convince the world of the superiority of Indian thought after Swami Vivekananda, said Fadnavis.

 

Spirituality, along with science, is the core of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s thought. It is because of these considerations that India is seen as a very ancient civilization existing in the world, said the Deputy Chief Minister.

 

Stating that the record of Atharvashirsha recital was set in Pune, he said, since Pune is the seat of learning, it is obvious that the recitation of Atharvashirsha is done here and hence the record can be set only in Pune.

 

On this occasion, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said, in the city of Pune and everywhere in Maharashtra, devotion is celebrated through Ganeshotsav. A sharp intellect and tender emotions are the gifts of Indian culture. All countries of the world agree that meditation is essential for mental health. Ayurveda, Yoga, meditation, spiritual knowledge are the greatest wealth of India, he said.

 

At the beginning of the programme, a world record was set for the collective Atharvashirsha recitation. Dr Chitra from Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records and Dr Deepak Harke from World Book of London presented the certificate to Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
