Anil Deshmukh demanded Rs 2 crore to cancel my suspension: Sachin Vaze’s statement to ED

Mumbai : NpNews24 Online Anil Deshmukh-Sachin Waze | Suspended police officer in the Rs 100-crore bribes scam Sachin Vaze has made sensational allegations in his statement given to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Vaze, in his statement, said, “I wrote an application to the then CP Param Bir Singh on the then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s instructions requesting Singh to reinstate me in the police service. I was reinstated. However, some ministers were putting pressure to suspend me.” Vaze also claimed that Deshmukh demanded Rs 2 crore from him for his reinstatement.

Vaze said he played a role in a seizure of N-95 masks in Bandra, though he was suspended from the police force. Later, Anil Deshmukh revealed this in a press conference, said the suspended police officer.

He said, “Deshmukh was happy with my work as I undertook a task even after my suspension. Deshmukh told me to give an application to CP Singh for my reinstatement in the police service. I did so. I followed his instruction, which is on record.”

Vaze recorded his statement before the ED on December 11, 2021. The ED filed a supplementary charge sheet against Deshmukh and others last month. Vaze’s statement has been attached to this. It is mentioned that Vaze wrote the request application to CP Singh on April 7, 2020.

Khwaja Yunus, an accused in the Ghatkopar bomb blast case, died in the custody. Vaze was suspended in this case in 2004. He was taken back in the service after 16 years on June 5, 2020. The review committee chaired by CP Singh reinstated him in the service.

“Later, I came to know that some senior leaders were against my reinstatement in the police force. I came to know that they were putting pressure on CP Singh to suspend me. The next day, I got a call from Deshmukh demanding Rs 2 crore bribe,” claimed Vaze in his statement.
